Nice!The only crit I have is the right side of his neck,according to the lighting I think it should be darker.Otherwise it's very good.

Is the woman's face on his chest intentional? I think it's a nice touch. She kinda looks like an angel with wings.

well, concerning the main subject of this illo (the boy's face) there's nothing to crit. I love your "touch" and you have a strong sense of dramatic lighting. But I don't like his body shape at all. I would have made it skinny and would have found a way to keep it all vertical. I don't know what's this arm doing here...
I'd love to see a finished work from you. You are one of my favs here definitely but I happen to lose hope to see a complete illo from you. Aren't you a bit lazy mr Francis ?

Gorgeous lighting. I too often shade my faces the same everytime... like a habit. XD It's like he's just sitting alone in a dark room with one, tiny window...

I have to disagree with Living rope, in that the whole piece has a kind of comical feel to it. I can't quite identify the vibe, but it's somewhere along the lines of Mystery Men or Edward Scissorhands. Yeah, that was a random thing to say, but honestly it reminds me of one of the two. I think leaving the bottom "unfinished" goes along with it, and adds intrigue.

Dear me, how did I miss this one?! I've always loved the dramatic lighting of yours. As for crits... oi, this is difficult but I think the body isn't doing much here, might as well crop it off unless you plan on working on it further.

I love his gnarled face, and the fact that you did a catboy instead of the usual catgirls or catwomen. Amazing facial expression and lighting. No crits aside from what's already been mentioned.

emarts - yeah, I embedded an older painting I did ("hyacinth" into the body - wanted to try adding some texture and also some sort of "extra information" as an experiment... Mainly so I could use the word "palimpsest" in a sentence.

livingrope - thank you, that is a great crit. I would not have considered that, so I appreciate the feedback. I might try this one again later and work some of that in.

I have alot to learn from you!Your art is inspiring and gets my creative juices going.Thank you for sharing step bye step your process in making the Red General it gives me a better idea how I can go about creating my own.I'm a digital artist and I am looking for new ways in expressing myself.If you decide to see what I've done you will be a little dissappointed I have been having problems shrinking my images to this website.But I will soon figure this out.Keep up the great work and keep inspiring others to do greater things!Cheers!
